WEAVING THREADS - The book about our journey to Mustang, Nepal
A thick, 100-page, little book filled with beautiful images and stories about an autumn 2022 journey to the 'Forgotten Kingdom' of Mustang, Nepal on the border with Tibet and China.
On the way, we pass between the world's highest mountains, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, in a small propeller plane. On rocky roads, over rivers and through rugged terrain, we pass small, solitary villages of stone houses. Here at high altitude, winters can be very, very harsh. We meet incredibly friendly and hospitable people who offer us tea and delicious dal bhat. We marvel at their beautiful traditional, colourful costumes and encounter herds of pashmina goats and yaks at an altitude of 4200 metres.
One of the reasons for our trip is to better understand goat and yak wool processing from animal to finished yarn.
Read about our days and the trip from Jomsom to Lo Manthang, a land of kings since 1380. Explore the history of Mustang as written by our excellent guide Jenny Adikari and be inspired by all the photos shot by Mats Widén.
This is a small-format book about great experiences. Perhaps Mustang should be added to your bucket list?
