Pashmina Shawl from Ladakh, Kashmir – Exclusive 100 x 200 cm, forest green

Sale price2.900,00 kr

Hand-woven exclusive pashmina wool from goats at 4000 metres - the softest in the world!

This large pashmina shawl is the result of the most beautiful craftsmanship.

The fine wool from the goats of the Ladakh region is carded, spun and woven by hand by the nomads of the area, an ancient process passed down from generation to generation. Weaving the thin wool is an art in itself that requires great skill.

The wool comes from the so-called undercoat closest to the goat's body. This fine thin wool keeps goats warm up to 4500 metres when blizzards sweep through the area. Each goat sheds a tiny amount of this fine wool, known as down wool, which is then picked by nomads on thorny bushes in the Ladakh region of Kashmir.

Use it as the most cosy shawl or the most beautiful warm cape all year round. The pashmina wool is light, soft and keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.
