Ull och skötsel

Wool – Simply a super material

For over 10,000 years, humans have made clothing from wool, and to this day, no one has managed to create a material that can match wool and its unique properties.

TEMPERATURE REGULATION:
Wool contains a lot of air, which provides an insulating effect where heat is retained in cold climates and dissipated in warm climates. Wool absorbs and dissipates moisture that the body produces.

This gives the wool special properties – you feel warm and dry.

To get maximum effect, the wool garment should be worn closest to the skin, which is comfortable today thanks to the soft merino wool.

SELF-CLEANING:
Wool contains Lanolin, a fat, that repels moisture in droplet form. Water vapor from the body passes through the garment and takes dirt particles with it. The fiber also contains creatine – an organic acid, which breaks down bacteria that would otherwise cause bad odor. In addition, there is constant minimal movement in the wool fiber itself, which provides a mechanical repulsion of the dirt particles.

Cashmere fiber is "hypoallergenic" which means a product with low allergenic potential, making it less likely to cause an allergic reaction compared to other products.

SOFTNESS/COARSENESS – MICRON:
Different animals and species produce wool of varying qualities. The merino sheep's curly, soft wool produces one of the finest qualities. The thickness of the wool fiber is measured in thousandths of a millimeter = microns.

Lower micron counts produce finer and softer wool.

The softer wool is more sensitive to abrasion, while the coarser wool often lasts better, but several factors affect durability, such as how tightly the fabric is knitted or woven (or other technology). Different qualities are therefore suitable for different purposes.
