Our Story

It all began with an inspiring meeting with the Tibetan monk, Pema Dorjee.

We then took a trip to the fjords in Norway to learn about indigo dyes.

These paths converged into a journey to the Cardamom Mountains in Kerala and the foot of Nanda Devi in the Himalayas.

We met local craftspeople with extensive knowledge of original source materials and traditional textile processes.

And thus, SPIRIT OF THREADS was born.

We create time-honoured textiles by hand, textiles to care for lovingly and wear out over a long period of time - a very long time.
