Ayurvedically Dyed Pashmina Wool Yoga Shawl

Sale price650,00 kr

An Ayurvedically dyed, thin wool shawl from Kerala. A light, thin and warm shawl in fine merino wool for yoga, meditation and everyday wear. Hand-woven in Khadi and dyed according to Ayurvedic methods using different herbs, roots and berries. Each shawl has asymmetrical, unique and subtle batik patterns in large, soft rings.

Ayurvedic medicine is a form of Indian medicine that can be traced back to around 5000 BC. Ayurveda means life and knowledge in Sanskrit. Our supplier, Mathew, operates in Kerala where the government invests in hand-weaving and Ayurvedic dyeing methods.

Material: 100% pashmina wool from goats raised at high-altitudes in Himachal Pradesh.
Size: 60 x 200 cm
Hem: 1 cm fringe

Natural Dyes:

12 Oat - pomegranate, triphala, fenugreek
46 Orange - turmeric, manjishta, sandalwood
62 Olive Green - aloe vera, neem tree, turmeric
85 Grey Fog- acacia, vetiver, arjuna
89 Umbra Brown- catechu wood, aloe vera

Origins: The garment is hand-spun and hand-woven in Khadi and naturally dyed in Kerala.

Durability and care: The shawl is made entirely by hand from nature's vibrant materials and colours. Weaving and spinning by hand leads to the threads being wonderfully irregular, and the natural dyeing allows the colours to vary. Gently care for your new garment, and you will have a friend for life. Begin by hanging it out to air. When necessary, wash by hand in cold water and mild soap, then hang dry.
