Day 6

The women of Tsarang

“Come in for tea!”, shouts a woman from a small window. We look at each other in agreement and step through a colourful door. This opens to a courtyard and then a staircase leading up to five women of different generations. We are offered apples, tea, cakes and have a wonderfully enjoyable time. We ask about their pangden and where the men are. The men are out working in the fields. Later, we accompany Riksana to her lovely home where she shows us lots of handwoven pangden and kertens, some very old, some new. We each buy an older pangden with lovely, slightly worn repairs. We are very pleased.
